The Georgian Foreign Ministry strongly protests the opening of a tender on heliport construction and assembly activities in Georgia's occupied territories of Java and Akhalgori.
The Russian government's official Web site posted information about plans to hold a tender on the activities this week, the Georgian FM reported.
The ministry once again called the attention of the international community to the military build-up on the Russian-occupied territories. Apart from military bases, military heliport construction may lead to further violations of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, the FM added.
The establishment and development of military infrastructure on the occupied territories is a flagrant violation of the fundamental norms and principles of international law and the six-point ceasefire agreement, the FM reported. Russia's announcement of the tender in the Tskhinvali region once again indicates that Russia is an occupier exercising control over these regions.
