The Georgian Parliamentary Bureau will consider the nomination of a candidate for post of the country's ambassador to Azerbaijan.
President Mikhail Saakashvili has nominated Irakli Kavtaradze to this post, the parliament said.
Presently, MP Kavtaradze holds the post of the ruling United National Movement Party's Secretary.
Kavtaradze is "a worthy candidate," and he "would do well" with the new job, Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Giorgi Tsereteli said.
After the Bureau will consider Kavtaradze's candidacy, the candidacy must be approved by the plenary session.
Ivan Noniashvili, who appointed the Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan in late 2009, never assumed his duties as head of the diplomatic mission, as he resigned.
