Cuban Transportation Minister Jorge Luis Sierra Cruz called for strengthening ties with Iran.
In a meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Mansour Borqeie in Havana, the Cuban minister by referring to the achievements in different fields of sanitation and education said that in spite of imposed sanctions against Cuba by the USA, his country is interested in cooperation with Iran in the fields of nano technology, bio technology, new irrigation systems and saving energy consumption.
According to the report of Iran’s embassy in Havana, the two sides discussed grounds of cooperation and ways of strengthening bilateral ties .
The two senior officials also underlined importance of holding joint economic commission between the two countries and expressed their agreement with holding a meeting in the level of secretaries of the joint commission in Tehran.
Borqeie is paying a visit to Latin American and Caribbean Sea countries.
