“Discussion of the so-called “Armenian genocide” in the Knesset of Israel may have negative influence on the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations,” Professor of International relations of Bilkent University of Turkey Mark Almond said.
“One can only guess the decision of the Knesset. But everybody knows that Israel-Turkey relations have recently become tense. Taking into account that Turkey plays the role of potential mediator in the South Caucasus region, this fact may have negative influence on the process of ratification of the protocols,” he said.
Touching on the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mark Almond said the solution to the problem will be difficult, unless the conflicting parties are ready for compromise.
