The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will be restored soon, Georgian Economy Minister Zurab Pololikashvili said, according to the Georgian media. The minister said one-third of the construction has been implemented.
“I am confident that the railway will be constructed within scheduled timeframe and will be commissioned in 2012. The construction work was suspended because of weather conditions in winter,” the minister added.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project costs $422 million.
