Each newborn child in Iran to get $1,000

From now on every newborn child in Iran will get $ 1000, head of the Iranian organization of the civil registration Mohammed Ardikani said, according to Iranian news agency FARS.
Ardikani said that today the ceremony has been held with the participation of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Babies born in 1389 (new year in Iran is celebrated March 21) on the solar calendar, got $1,000 (one million tumans) as a gift within the project of Iranian Children Future Maintenance Fund.

This project will be implemented by the Iranian National Bank and Citizens Registration Organization, Ardikani said.

Parents of children having birth certificates will be sent to the various branches of the National Bank of Iran. They will get checkbooks.

"This year the account is opened for each newborn. The amount worth $ 1000 is transferred to this account. It will ensure future of these children," Ardikani said.

On April 2010, in his speech, in the province of Western Azerbaijan (Urmia), Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that a bank account will be opened for every new born. The government will transfer 1000 as a gift.

He said that this amount will be used as a deposit. About $ 100 will be added to this amount within a year. "If the family members and parents transfer $ 20 to this account each month, then when the children will grow up, they will be able to get $120,000. It will help them to have a family, buy a house and build a career," Ahmadinejad said.
