The 10th summit of Turkish-speaking countries' leaders will be held in Istanbul September 15-16, the Turkish Foreign Ministry told Trend. Foreign ministers of Turkish-speaking countries discussed the upcoming summit, to be held in Istanbul, in Bodrum last week. They expressed hope that a permanent secretariat of the Turkic World Council will be formed there, Anadolu news agency reported.
The last summit was held in Nakhchivan October 2-3, 2009. Permanent participants in the summit, first held in Ankara in 1992, are the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
