Iran will launch its own Internet network next year, ISNA reported quoting Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Reza Tagipur as saying.
A project of commencing a national Internet network will be implemented by stages. The first stage will be realized in the first quarter of 2011 and the last by end 2013.
"National Internet network is a basis of the electronic government," Tagipur said.
According to the minister, national Internet network will have a number of design parameters, including speedy transfer of images, sound and great volume of information, as well as increased capacity.
"Information will be transferred in a speed of over 8 Megabit per second," Tagipur underscored said.
According to Tagipur, rooftop antennas are being installed in accordance with ecological standards.
