Armenia’s software piracy level reaches 90%

The level of software piracy in Armenia goes down only by 3-4% annually, not more. However, the situation will remain complicated until government itself purchases licensed software, representative of Business Soft Alliance Narine Mkrtchyan told journalists today.

She stressed only Justice Ministry and the Ministry of Education and Science are using licensed software.  

"Today piracy level reached 90%, including government, business circles and public sector," said Mkrtchyan.

As to big business, 70% of large companies, in particular banks, are using licensed programs. The BSA representative stressed they are currently working with insurance companies and credit organizations as there are still certain shortcomings in this field.
