London lab announces Bird flu samples'results

The World Health Organization (WHO) Mill Hill reference laboratory in London has announced the results of 43 samples taken from suspected bird flu patients in Azerbaijan.

The WHO office in Azerbaijan told APA that the laboratory confirmed the eighth human case of Bird flu in Azerbaijan. The patient is the 17-year-old girl, who has already been treated and released from hospital. The deadly H5N1 virus was not found in the rest samples.

WHO confirmed that eight people contracted the avian flu in Azerbaijan.
