Ammunition smuggling to Azerbaijan from Georgia prevented

State Border Service's Shamkir Sadikhli Border Squad prevented ammunition smuggling in Azerbaijan-Georgia border yesterday.

As APA reports, the border squad saw 2 people crossing the Kyur near the borderline. Border violators seeing State Border Service associates' approach they escaped leaving the boat in the place of the event.

They making use of the territory being dense wood they could enter the relevant territory. Border servicemen found special packed package in the boat. During the check up 1 number automatic AK-74, 1 number AKM-74 marked automatic weapon, 2 numbers automatic magazine, 30 numbers 7.62 mm powder, 2 numbers F-1 hand grenade were found. 3 suspected persons have been detained in the territory.

SBS and National Security Ministry joint operation prevented bringing of narcotic drugs by organized criminal group. Baku residents Mehi Huseynoiv, 1954, Sevda Huseynova, Siyazan resident Sevil Kerimova, 1960, have been detained with 1 kg narcotic drug as a result of operation held in Beilagan region territory.
