Azeri national squad's midfielder failed dope test

UEFA may punish Azerbaijani national team midfielder Sergey Sokolov for a log time, as illicit dope has been found in his blood samples.

As Sokolov's blood test taken after the visit match with Belgium on October 11 was positive, UEFA informed AFFA about this.

AFFA Secretary General Fuad Asadov confirmed the information. "UEFA noted in the document sent to AFFA that banned preparations was found in Sokolov's blood and suggested to make investigations. We have sent the list of medicines the footballer received during his treatment. We are waiting for the reply," he said, APA reports.
