Jahangir Hajiyev: "I was demanded $ 10m for Zamire's release"

The deputy of IM Crime Investigation Department Ramiz Jahangirov's testimony to the investigation was repeated. "I was appointed to the post of deputy of the IM Crime Investigation Department in 1999.I know Kamil Sedreddinov and Haji Mammadov as the officers of the ministry. I did not have any information about their crimes. I did not know the reasons why Haji Mammadov did not come to work, who paved the way for his crimes. The Prosecutor's Office did not send any letter about the crimes in the country, if it happened I would have told Zahid Dunyamaliyev about it and he would report it to Ramil Usubov," he said.

Then public prosecutor read Famil Abdullayev's testimony. "I know Haji Mammadov, Kamil Sedreddinov and Nizami Abdullayev. I did not have any friendship relation with those people but our relations were normal. I was unaware of Haji Mammadov's crimes, but since 2004 I heard that Azer Ismayilov was killed by Haji. After I knew Haji, I heard that he is busy with business and had cafes in Garabulag and Russia, that is why, he did not come to work. Haji and Kamil had good relations otherwise Kamil would pay attention to Haji," he said.

Then Jahangir Hajiyev's testimony was read. "When I was in the mourning ceremony on 10 February, 2005, my driver Aydin said that somebody phoned me. The called was made by Zamire's phone. A man said that they kidnapped Zamire and had sent a letter to me. I went and took the letter where the criminals had put it. I was demanded $10m and not to tell law enforcement bodies. I appealed Baku Main Police board and NSM and cooperated with NSM until Zamire was released. I handed the letter and audio-cassettes to the ministry. I have seen Haji Mammadov in Garabulag. At that time Elchin Aliyev was working as the chief of AIB Sabunchu branch. Haji introduced himself as Elchin's uncle and thanked me. We spent New Year holiday with my family in Garabulag. I did not that Elchin's family was there. My wife and I were not presented anything on that day. It is not true that Elchin presented Zamire a watch; I bought the watch that was found when Zamire was kidnapped. On that day, I met with Javadaga Sultanov and Maharram Aliyev in my office. Javadaga said that Zakir Nasirov stands at the head of the crimes," he said.

Victims Hafiz and Mubariz Mammadovs, witnesses of the cases Fizuli Mejidli and Amrah Aslanov, the witnesses Lyudmila Antonovna, Khosrov Javadov's testimonies were read again.
