ABA/CEELI director holds meeting with Azeri journalists

The ABA/CEELI (American Bar Association/ Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative) director for Research and Program Development Wendy Patten during her visit to Azerbaijan hosted roundtable discussion on trafficking in humans, which gathered the Azerbaijani journalists.

During the meeting held in the USA embassy to Azerbaijan, Mrs. W. Patten told of international fight against forced labor and exploitation, saying Azerbaijan is one of the first countries to sign UNO protocol on fight against trafficking in humans. According to the UN estimates, over 700 thousand people become victims of trafficking yearly.

The meeting already focused on legal assistance to the trafficking victims, material and moral compensation and measures to fight this evil in Azerbaijan. AzerTAg
