Participants of International Congress on Lung Diseases appeal to President for Ali Insanov's release

Vasili Trasimov, the President of the International Congress on Lung Diseases, appealed to the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for ex-Minister of Health Ali Insanov's release from prison on behalf of the participants of the congress held in St. Petersburg, ex-Minister's lawyer Togrul Babayev told.

The appeal says that Ali Insanov was awarded a gold medal in the congress held in St. Petersburg in 1998 and the medicines invented by him gained certificates in Russia and other foreign countries.

The appeal asks to commute Ali Insanov's sentence, taking into account his services in the medicine, APA reports.

The Minister was accused and arrested for trying to seize the power by force, create massive unrest and misappropriate of state property on October 20, 2005.
