Husain Abdulvahabov: "Court should not consider Haji Mammadov's testimonies against me"

Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

26 members of the gang stand trial presided by judge Ali Seyfaliyev in the second part of the day.

Defendant Mehman Hasanov gave his last statement, APA reports.

"I tied to prove my sincerity and guiltlessness since the trial began. But the public prosecutor's statement proved that I could not make them believe in my sincerity. It is not their sin, I do not blame them. Please, pass just decision," he said.

Then Husain Abdulvahabov asked court to pass fair decision about him.

"I did not participate in any of the criminal cases. As there is not any trusty proofs and my guiltiness was not proved the court should have exonerated me from my blame. I protest against the punishment that the public prosecutors wanted for me. The accusations against me were compiled on the basis of Haji and Aslanbek Chintamirov's testimonies against me. Haji words should not be considered," he said.

Afterwards the defendants Agil Huseynov, Azer Aliyev and Ibrahim Bagirov gave their last statements. They noted that they transferred the damages to state as the deposit in the account of court. The date of the next hearing has not been set yet.

The defendants will be sentenced in the next trial.
