Habil Aliyev: "I promised not to go on stage"

21 December 2006 [14:18] - TODAY.AZ
"This year some artists in Azerbaijan culture passed away. I feel sorry that, there is not any artist in Azerbaijan that brought up genius people," said People's Artist, kamancha-player Habil Aliyev.

"I do not want to live in the society where everything has destroyed. I am away of everything, of art. Because I do not want to see what is happening around. I can not bear boasting of so-called artists. It is a shame for our people," he told the APA.

He also mentioned about his son Revan Habiloglu and said that though Revan is in Baku, he is away from the art.

"The real artist should boycott the events happening in Azerbaijani culture and estrange himself from the art. Because it is disrespect to the art to performs on the same stage with so-called artists. I play kamancha only for myself. I promised not to go on stage," Aliyev said.
