Number of Azeris temporarily living abroad to be calculated

The officers of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry were sent to Russia to help the solution of the problems of Azerbaijanis living there concerning the application of new rules on migration.

Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov said that the officers of Interior Ministry are in Moscow and St. Petersburg at present.

"Corresponding documents are taken from Azerbaijani citizens having no identity cards. These documents will be brought to Azerbaijan and they will be given passports," he said.

Usubov also said that they work along with local city, region police and authorities to make the number of Azerbaijani citizens living abroad, especially in Russia precise.

Minister noted that the number of the Azerbaijani citizens temporarily living abroad wil be made precise by February 15.

Usubov is satisfied with the activity of the Migration Service of Interior Ministry and said that 110 migrants illegally living in Azerbaijan were removed form the country and 97 were imposed fine last year.

"No illegal migrant was observed in 2005. The Migration Service is new. I think that the results will be positive in this direction in 2007," he said, APA reports.
