Day of Ashura held in Azerbaijan

The day of Ashura is being held in Azerbaijan. Ceremonies are being held in most pilgrimages of the country.

Ceremonies on the day of Ashura were held in Teze Pir, Ejderbey, Juma mosques and Mirmovsum aga pilgrimage.

Thousands of people came to the mosques, did namaz and said prayers.

Ambulances were placed near mosques. Baku Main Police Office is on alert on the day of Ashura.

BMPO Public Security Department chief Shamil Seyidli told the APA that though there was a crowd noting unpleasant happened.

"People observe discipline more than in previous years," he said.
