Mirza Sakit wants to meet with Ombudsman and human rights defender

Azadliq newspaper reporter Sakit Zahidov a.k.a Mirza Sakit wants to meet with Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova and human rights defender Elchin Behbudov.

He said though Mirza Sakit several times wanted to meet with these men, they did not show initiative to meet with the journalist.

Huseynov said they will file an appeal against the court's decision at the beginning of the next week. The rights defender said Mirza Sakit has health problems.

Mirza Sakit was accused of Article 234.1 (illegal keeping drugs) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to three years by the Court of Grievous Crimes, APA reports.
