Azerbaijan's Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry announces results of monitoring of polluted rivers

Though Smaller Caucasus Rivers Tovuzchay, Shamkirchays, Ganjachay and Kurekchay are weakly polluted, phenol and metal compounds are 2-3 times and oil products are 1,5-2 times more than sanitary norm.

The indicator of copper is 2 times, phenols 1,1 times more than sanitary norm in the Greater Caucasus south-western rivers Balakanchay, Talachay, Katexchay, Eyrichay, Gurmukhchay.

South-eastern rivers of the Greater Caucasus Turyanchay, Garasu, Demiraparanchay, Goychay are more polluted rivers, the indicators of chemical compounds are exceed sanitary norm, and the analogical situation can be observed in North-eastern rivers (Gusarchay, Gudiyalchay, Velvelechay) of the Grater Caucasus.
