Agriculture Minister: "No bird flu virus has been found in Azerbaijan"

"No bird flu virus has been found in Azerbaijan," Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov said.

The Minister said the government has banned the import of fowls and feed from Russia and Turkey.

"Azerbaijan's relevant bodies as well as Agriculture Ministry addressed the people several times to inform State Veterinary Service about any dead bird. Although birds died in some regions, the investigations have not confirmed H5N1 strain of the virus," the Minister said.
