51.5% of population lives in cities. Women constitute 51% of the population and the women-men ratio is 1,029 to 1,000.

The average age is 31, life expectancy is 72.4 years (men -69.6, women-75.1).

On average, every woman gives birth to two children during their life, APA reports.

During the first quarter Azerbaijan registered 38,400 births or 19 births per 1,000 people and registered 14,200 deaths or 6.8 deaths per 1,000 people.

During this period the country's relevant bodies registered 15,700 marriages and 2,100 divorces.
