Education Minister Misir Mardanov addressing the meeting said the State Oil will allocate funds each year for Azerbaijanis' education abroad under the state programme. According to him, only the best students of the required specialties will be sent for study abroad.
He said about 5,000 selected students are indented to study abroad within the framework of the state program, APA reports.
"We will give preference to the specialties on management, modern fields of economy and information technology. The students who receive state-funded education will have to sign labor contract. According to the contract, the students after study abroad must work in Azerbaijan at least for three years. If anyone wish to stay in the state where he studied he or she is to pay back education fees," he said.
The Minister offered to establish Working Group to select the students together with the representatives of the Embassies.
Turkish Embassy representative Erkan Ozoral said he is ready to assist Azerbaijani students in study abroad. French Embassy representative Valeri Galshe Baron said his government is ready to cooperate within the programme.
Andrew Williams, British Council's representative said they wish to be represented in the Working Group. Yang Sok, representative of Korean Institute of Science and Technology reminding the agreement between Azerbaijan and Korea on education said his state is interested in the education of Azerbaijani students in Korea.
Other foreign representatives attending the meeting also expressed their views on the issue.
