Khural newspaper to go on trial again

The due information has been provided by the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.

The case was transmitted for consideration to judge Elshana Beliyeva.

A preliminary sitting of the court is scheduled for January 4, 2008.

Notably, the Khural newspaper published articles, entitled "Chairman of Kurort JSC Akif Mamedov threatens to murder an enterprener", "Thievish rules of Akif Mamedov and laws of mafia" in December.

In this connection, the plaintiff filed a claim against the publishing house for violating Article 147 (libel) and 148 (criminal insult).
