About 50 newspapers driven away from Azerbaijan publishing house through past two years

About 50 newspapers, locating in the building of the Azerbaijan publishing house, have been moved away from it through the past two years, said general director of Azerbaijan publishing house Aghabek Askerov, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

"This is caused by the fact that most of them either do not publish their editions at all, or publish them once in 5-6 months and it is unclear what they are engaged in", noted Askerov.

He considers that these newspaper are racketeering.

"This lays a spot on the Azerbaijani press, including the Azerbaijan publishing house", noted he.

As for situation around the rental fee and publishing spendingsAskerov said most newspapers of the country face financial problems and therefore they have such kinds of problems.

"Almost all newspapers have debts for publishing. But we do not think that this amount will be too high", concluded the general director.
