Azerbaijan`s Minister of Justice and Chairman of Judicial Council Fikrat Mammadov met Tuesday with the Council of Europe`s Secretary General Terry Davis, who is in Baku for a visit, reports Day.Az with reference to AzerTac.

Mammadov spoke of ongoing democratic processes in the country.
The minister said Azerbaijan is successfully honoring its commitments of the Council of Europe, including modernization of the country`s judicial system.
Mammadov noted his country places a particular emphasis on cooperation with the Council of Europe.
Terry Davis, in turn, said Azerbaijan is an important country for his organization.
He said the council will further support reforms in Azerbaijan.
They also discussed a wide range of issues, including freedom of speech and media, fighting against corruption, protecting rights of convicts, and pardoning prisoners.
