Deputy Nasib Nasirli: "During perestroika press had many suggestions that Shaomyan died in his bed in India"

During perestroika in the mid 1980s press contained many publications that English men did not shot all 26 Baku commissars dead, said deputy Nasib Nasibli, commenting on the information that residuals of three people were not found under the memorial to Baku commissars.
"In particular, Stepan Shaomyan and several other Armenians were not shot down. They were brought to India, which was a British colony at that time and died in their bed. The fact is that not all 26 commissars were buried in Baku", said he.

The deputy noted that after restoration of Azerbaijan's independence this part of history was not studied by historians and this remains a problem.
