Azerbaijan marks Day of Youth

According to Day.Az, the first forum of Azerbaijani Youth was held by initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and under instruction of President of Azerbaijan on February 2 of 1996.

The forum was attended by 2000 youth representatives from all regions of the country. The duties, facing the state bodies, youth organizations, every youth representative, which is a conduction of effective measures on multilateral youth development, were also defined.

Heydar Aliyev, who was a president of Azerbaijan at that time, signed a decree according to which the day of the forum - February 2- was declared "The Day of Azerbaijani Youth", in 1997.
