ANAMA terminates over 10,000 unexploded shells and mines in Azerbaijan in March, 2009

730,818 square meteres of Azerbaijani lands were checked and cleaned of mines and unexploded ammunitions in March of 2009.

According to the press service for ANAMA, the operations involved 425 people, 5 mine clearing engines and about 30 dogs.

Thus, 10,292 unexploded ammunitions and mines were cleared in March of this year in Azerbaijan.

On the whole, 81,124,613 square meters of lands have been cleared and 398,113 mines and ammunitions have been found and neutralized.

ANAMA holds search operations in Terter, Aghdam, Fizuli, Gazakh and Aghstafa regions of Azerbaijan and Ganja.
