The ambassador said the Azerbaijani citizens had an opportunity to leave the ship and the embassy intended to send them home, but the Azerbaijani crew members refused to leave the ship not receiving payment. Garayev said the embassy staff kept contacts with Azerbaijani citizens on board every day.
The ship was given by the bank instead of paying the debt to India. There are two other claimants for the ship, who have already appealed to the court. The Indian court is trying the case now and the ship will stay in the Indian waters until the court decision.
