Wanted founder of the Ideal newspaper Nazim Guliyev has been arrested, spokesman for Interior Ministry Sadig Gozalov told APA.
The founder of the Ideal newspaper Nazim Guliyev had been searched since October, 2008. Basing on the suit brought by chairperson of Azeri-Turkish Women Union Tanzila Rustamkhanli, Nasimi district court passed a judgment to hold Nazim Guliyev accountable and arrest him on October 29, 2008. He has been searched since then.
Nazim Guliyev faced charges under articles 147.2 (the slander, which is connected with accusation of committing serious or especially serious crime) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code.
The Ideal newspaper has been included into the list of “racketeering newspapers” by the Press Council.
