Azerbaijani Health Minister: There is still no threat of virus transmission to Azerbaijan

“The virus was identified in America, in Mexico. There is no such threat in Azerbaijan. However the relevant government organizations – State Veterinary Service, Health Ministry and State Border Service are taking all necessary measures within their duties. I think H1N1 will not be identified in Azerbaijan. The virus is transmitted to human from animals. Investigations suggest that on-going human-to-human swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is occurring, but it has not been confirmed yet”.

The minister said the order prepared by him considered implementation of necessary measures in the epidemiological and various medical centers. “The necessary ventilation system was installed in the medical centers during the bird flu alert. Azerbaijan is ready for this issue. We would like to keep Azerbaijan far from the swine flu”.
