For the first time in Azerbaijan, courtesy of GoldenPay, subscribers can pay their electricity bills online

Starting on April 28th, 2009, BakiElektrikShebeke (BES) subscribers can pay their electricity bill online with their credit card. This service is provided by GoldenPay, the first ever online payment service provider in Azerbaijan.

Anyone with a Visa/Visa Electron or MasterCard/Maestro card can take advantage of this service by going to BES’s official website (http://www.bes.az/).

The payment process is very simple. Once you’re at the BES site, type in your landline number or code in the corresponding box in the top right corner. A popup window will appear with your account information and balance owing. To pay, simply press the “Pay” button and then fill in the information on the following pages. Within seconds of the payment, you will receive a success notice that you can print or send to an e-mail address.

*The advantage of this service is that it is free for subscribers, easy and convenient to use, and is available 24/7.

GoldenPay, developed by SilverKey Azerbaijan (http://www.silverkey.az), was announced publicly in December 2008. The system has passed all security tests required by the internet payment departments at “Visa” and “MasterCard”. As a result, GoldenPay has been given “Verified by Visa” and “MasterCard Secure Code” licenses. The system also uses “VeriSign SSL”, the international encryption standard, to increase the level of security.
