State Veterinary Service: A/H1N1 virus not revealed in Azerbaijan

The results of monitoring to reveal swine flu infection, conducted by the State Veterinary Service at the Ministry of Agriculture on June 1 have been made public, said spokesman for the State Veterinary Service Yolchu Khanveli.
He said blood samples were taken from 343 pigs during the monitoring. The sample analysis did not reveal A/H1N1 virus.

"The monitoring was held in all pig farms of our country. Considering possible penetration of this virus in Azerbaijan, the state veterinary service intends to continue the monitoring", announced Khanveli.

He noted that the epizootic situation in connection with this flu is stable in our country and this issue will always be in the focus of attention.

Notably, the first case of swine flu infection was recorded in Mexico.
