Mine blasts in western Azerbaijan

A mine blasted in the Fizuli region of Azerbaijan.
A resident of Ahmadlilar village Jafar Maharramov (41), was blown up by an anti-tank mine while ploughing the land by tractor in the Garahanbeyli village of the Fizuli region on Aug.13, The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) said.

Maharramov received slight injuries in his abdomen and hand. Despite the warning to prevent people from mine blast danger, the agricultural work in dangerous areas still continues.

By August, 107,644,692 sq. m. of area was demined and 468,170 unexploded ordnance were detonated by ANAMA.

ANAMA carries out mine sweep in Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa  and Garadagh district in Baku.
