President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev examined works at the construction site of the Heydar Aliyev Center on Sept. 7.

The Head of State was informed that the construction site covers 15, 25 hectares.
Construction of the Center`s main building started in early 2008.
On September 10, 2007, President Ilham Aliyev attended a ceremony for laying foundation stone of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
On December 29, 2006, the Head of State signed an order on establishment of the Heydar Aliyev Center to eternalize the national leader`s memory and to study and develop his philosophy of statehood and ideas of Azerbaijanism.
The construction work is being implemented by “DIA Holdinq FZCO” Company on the basis of the project presented by “Zaha Hadid Architects” Consortium and “Innova Construction and Contracting” companies.
In accordance with the project, the Center will consist of three main parts and two subsidiary structures.
The Center will play an important role in the country`s public, political and cultural life. It will also host international conferences, festivals, exhibitions, concerts and other events.
President Ilham Aliyev gave certain instructions to continue and complete the construction work here.
