Azerbaijani president signs decree on conscription to active military service

Under the decree, the citizens born in 1991 and who turn 18 by the call-up day, as well as born in 1974-1990, under 35, the citizens having no deferment of military service, will be called up from Oct. 1 to 30, 2009.

The soldiers, sailors and sergeants serving the term of military service considered by the law on the military service will retire from Oct. 1 to 30, 2009.

The Cabinet of Ministers and local executive bodies are to take measures envisaged in the legislation.
