Azerbaijani judo fighter wins gold in European championship in Yerevan

On final day of the European Youth Judo Championship in Yerevan, Armenia, Azerbaijani judoist Elmar Gasymov (100 kg) has won gold medal.

In final fight the Azeri sportsman for 21 second has overcome the Czech Lucas Kpralek.

The Azerbaijan judoist still in 1/16 final has beaten Frenchman Clement Delverti. Then, he has won the representative of Austria Gabor Geer.

In semi-final Elmar Gasymov has defeated Anton Martsulevich from Belarus and then Thomas Domanski from Poland.

Remarkable is that in first two days of Euro-2009, the Azerbaijani judoists won 4 medals - silver (Ilgar Mushkiyev, 55kg) and three bronze medals (Rasim Asadullayev, 60kg, Fagan Eminoglu, 66 kg, and Ramin Gurbanov, 81 kg.
