02 October 2009 [11:27] - TODAY.AZ
Unexploded shells were have been found in Hasangaya village of Azerbaijan’s Tartar region.
Chief of the Civil Defense Staff of Tartar Region Ilgar Musayev said Grad rocket projectile and 125-mm caliber cannon shell were found near the IDP school No. 117.

Field engineers of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) and representatives of the Mine Victims’ Association of Tartar Region established by the International Eurasia Press Fund are working at site.

Musayev said the recent intensive rains caused floods which brought a lot of mines and shells from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and neutral territories of contact line of the troops.

Two unexploded anti-tank mines PMN-72 were found on Thursday in Tartar River, but rising water prevented the field engineers to disarm the mines.

The territory is under the control now.

Experts said they would de-mine the unexploded ordinances when water level will fall in the river.
