Azerbaijan's culture minister to trip to Turkey

Azerbaijan's Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev told reporters that he will also participate in the ceremony.

The minister said it will take Baku four or five years to be declared European Capital of Culture.

“The events held within the framework of “Baku - Capital of Islamic Culture” proved that we are able to hold such international events and Azerbaijan is ready for this. Activities are being carried out to declare Baku “Capital of Intercultural Dialogue", he said.

"Discussions are underway with the Council of Europe, ISESCO and UNESCO. We think the Azerbaijani government will apply for declaration of Baku as European Capital of Culture in the coming years,” he said.
