International Committee of Red Cross office in Baku appeals to organization's Yerevan office

Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan has appealed to the ICRC office in Armenia to study fate of missing Tovuz resident Tagiyev Eldar Heydar, spokesperson for ICRC Gulnaz Guliyeva said.

She said that the ICRC office in Armenia was investigating Tagiyev’s fate.

It was reported that Tovuz resident Tagiyev Eldar Heydar was killed after the Armenians violated ceasefire.

Armenians reportedly fired at Eldar Tagiyev, 45, near the contact line in Alibayli village of Tovuz region at 18.00 on Dec. 28.

According to initial reports, he was shot by Armenians while fishing in the Tovuz river running near the contact line between Alibayli village and Aygezor village of Armenia’s Berd region.

The village residents say his body was taken away by Armenian soldiers .

According to other reports, Tagiyev was captured by Armenians.
