Month of safe movement to be launched in Baku

Cases of collisions with pedestrians have increased lately, State Traffic Police Department Spokesperson Jamshid Hanifayev said.

For this reason, it was was decided to hold a "month of safe movement" upon the order of Head of State Traffic Police Department Nushiravan Safarov.

In January-March, 82 238 traffic accidents claimed 82 lives and 240 individuals were injured in Baku. As many as 144 accidents resulted from collision with pedestrians; 44 pedestrians were killed and 116 received injuries.

As many as 4,004 pedestrians were fined for traffic rule violations.
