Resettlement of refugees and internally displaced people living in the dormitories will start in Azerbaijan this year, chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov said at a press conference on Friday.
"Plots of land for their resettlement in new homes have already been allocated. About 216,000 refugees and internally displaced people live in Baku," Hasanov said.
He said that about 60 dormitories are on the balance of the Ministry of Education. About 16,000 families live there.
Then the process of resettlement of refugees and internally displaced people living in kindergartens and other public institutions gradually begins, Deputy Prime Minister said.
