A shortage of legal personnel in Azerbaijan creates serious problems in practice, head of the Azerbaijani presidential administration's department for work with law-enforcement agencies Fuad Alasgarov said on Friday at an international conference "Actual problems of building the legal state, judicial training and development of legal science in Azerbaijan".
"When lawyers with higher legal education begin their practice, we face these problems" Alasgarov said.
He said that according to presidential decree the Academy of Justice was established to solve this problem.
"The main purpose of the Academy is to enhance the professionalism, level of training of legal personnel. People with higher legal education must pass a two-year course at the academy to work directly on the specialty. After completing the course, they will be able to start work at the Bar, the Prosecutor's Office, Justice department," he said.
