Winners of school essay contest announced in Baku

Speaking at the awards ceremony, held in the governmental house by the State Committee on Family, Women and Children, Chairman of the Committee Hijran Huseynova told the participants of the contest about the life, work, academic achievements of Zarifa Aliyeva.

"Zarifa khanum was a wonderful doctor and mother. Today, Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva continues her traditions. Zarifa khanum will remain in Azerbaijani history as a great personality," Huseynova said.

About 55 compositions were presented at the contest.

A pupil of secondary school number 281 after V. Mirzaliev of Surakhani district Aygun Allahverdiyeva ranked first, a pupil of Humanities and Technical Lycee No 147 of Khatai district Ayan Gelbinur - second, a pupil of school named after Z. Aliyeva of Yasamal district Shovkethanym Guluzade - third. Winners received special diplomas and gifts.

Schoolgirl, who took the first place, got the laptop. Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova said that Zarifa Aliyeva was a woman, who has won the top of personality.

"Zarifa Aliyeva's life will be an example for future generations," Suleymanova said.
