Azerbaijani construction sector has been considerably developed

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has said much had been done to develop the road infrastructure in the country. Aliyev spoke at a ceremony to officially inaugurate part of Alat-Astara highway along Azerbaijan`s border with Iran.

"We've been building important roads, including highways linking our cities. Our aim is to bring Azerbaijan`s road infrastructure to modern standards."

The President stressed the importance of the Alat-Astara highway.

“This road is of great importance for us. All roads are important, but this one is of particular significance. It has great economic importance and also is very significant from the point of view of balancing traffic.”

The President said: “This road will contribute to developing our economic relations with Iran. At the same time, it links all our regions located along our South border, and people living there will have closer contacts with the capital.”
