The first scientific conference on the 87th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev convened in Baku.

The event brought together well-known scientists from 9 countries, including Russia, France, Lithuania, Egypt and Iran. The conference was organized by Baku Slavic University (BSU), State Universities of Ganja and Nakhchivan.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Education Elmar Gasimov stressed the significance of the conference. Rector of BSU Kamal Abdullayev briefed on purpose of the conference. Prior to the event, the conference participants visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev.
They also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
