Azerbaijani education minister reponds to Iran's refusal to recognize Azerbaijani Medical University diplomas

06 May 2010 [16:06] - TODAY.AZ
“I know from press about the Iranian Deputy Health Minister’s statement that Iran doesn’t recognize diplomas issued by the Azerbaijan Medical University," Azerbaijani education minister Misir Mardanov said.

"I talked to AMU Rector Ahliman Amiraslanov about that. He said Iranian Health Minister had recently visited Azerbaijan and he raised this issue after he returned home. I have no details about this issue. But we are not interested in education of Iranian students in Azerbaijan either”,  Mardanov said whilst speaking about Iranian Deputy Health Minister Mohammad Ali Mohaggigi’s statement that Iran doesn’t recognize AMU’s diplomas.

The Mnister said said the number of foreign students in Azerbaijan was increasing day by day and there was no serious problem with that.

Mardanov said they had signed an agreement with Germany’s DAD organization.

“Every year they conduct contests among the AMU students to attend different education programs in Germany. The German professors very highly appreciate the AMU students’ knowledge," the minister noted.
