On May 6, the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry imposed a ban on movement of international and long-distance buses at night time, the ministry said. The ban came as part of measures to tighten security in passenger transportation.

The ministry defined a period from 01:00 to 06:00 as rest time for drivers. After 16:00, the movement of buses from Baku in different areas will be limited. The Ministry urged drivers and passengers to properly assess the situation and be careful.

A traffic accident this morning resulted in death of five people, Azerbaijani Central Traffic Police Department Spokesman Kamran Aliyev said. Eight were injured. A passenger bus on the Ganja-Baku route collided with a truck on the 140-kilometer section of the Baku-Gazakh Highway in the Hajigabul region.
